Installation

Tapeto is a hosted service — there’s nothing to install to start converting designs. “Installation” here covers the two things you set up once: your account/API access, and (optionally) the WordPress plugin if you want to push content directly to a site.

1. Create your account

Sign up at tapeto.dev/register. The Free plan is enough to explore the product — 1 project per month, HTML/CSS and Figma sources, Gutenberg output.

2. Generate an API key (optional)

If you’re integrating Tapeto into your own workflow instead of using the web app, generate an API key from your account settings (Settings → API Keys → Create). The key is shown in full only once — store it securely. See Authentication for how to use it.

3. Install the WordPress plugin (optional)

You only need this if you want to push conversions directly into a WordPress site instead of downloading JSON or a WXR file. See WordPress Plugin — Installation for requirements and setup steps.

Requirements for the plugin: WordPress with PHP 8.1+, and Elementor 3.10+ if you plan to push Elementor output.
